We must experience failure in order to grow. It is also inevitable. But maybe instead of trying to prevent it, we can actually accept it? even encouraged it? Perhaps failure is the thing that keeps us engaged and challenged in what we do?
We talked to Benjamin Seror, CPO at Similarweb, who knows a thing or two about failures and successes. He joined SimilarWeb, a unicorn market analysis platform, from the early days as employee number 2 and build the product team from scratch while leveraging the lessons he learned from previous failures.
He shared with us why he loves the dreaded question in interviews, “what is your biggest failure?” and how the answer can help you identify if your candidate is more focused on skills (a specialist) or outcomes (a generalist).
Additionally, Benji shared with us his experience and insights on how to hire and develop talent, especially Gen Z who offer a new challenge to managers.

Bio
Benjamin has over 14 years of experience leading product teams. Since joining Similarweb in 2012, Benjamin designed and launched the entire suite of Similarweb solutions including the Similarweb.com free product, Similarweb SaaS Platform, Similarweb API and most recently, Similarweb Reports. Prior to that Benjamin led the design and development of several multi-screen ad networks, including a leading platform used by China Mobile (Red Loop Media) and one of the first 3-screen ad networks (Amdocs). Benjamin holds B.S. and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from University Paris IX (Dauphine) and ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de La Statistiques appliquee a l’economie).

Shahar Erez is the Co-founder & CEO of Fiverr Enterprise. In 2021, Fiverr Enterprise was acquired by Fiverr for $110M just 15 months after coming out of stealth mode.

Romi was educated on three continents; she grew up in Japan as a baby, in California as a young adult, and now in Israel.
Romi has had an interesting career path (she’s a classic Gen Y story), starting as a CSR and sustainability consultant at BDO firm, to becoming an innovation management professional.
That lead her to become a mentor at different entrepreneurship programs, a podcaster, and today the marketing manager at Fiverr Enterprise.
